BBC finally announced the release of Peaky Blinders Series 5… it will be starting on August 25th at 9pm on BBC1. We will definitely be living tweeting during the show, so feel free to join us and comment on what you think of Sam’s performance as Oswald Mosley.

Exclusive BTS picture from GQ Magazine interviewing Anthony Byrne, the director of Peaky Blinders Series 5: “Each series of Peaky Blinders brings on a new director to give their vision of the Shelby family. For series five, that director is Anthony Byrne (In Darkness, Ripper Street). He takes on a story that sees Tommy Shelby embedded in the world of politics, where he comes into the sights of rising MP Oswald Mosley, who sees a fascist future for Britain. The two men’s different views of the world makes them dangerous enemies and gives Tommy a rival unlike any he’s faced before. Anthony Byrne tells us about finding new dark depths in Tommy’s soul and reveals what to expect in series six.”

TV Times Magazine also reveals an exclusive photo of Sam as Oswald Mosley. We did a bit of cropping for you guys 🙂
SCF was lucky to attend the preview screening of Peaky Blinders Series 5 on Tuesday the 23rd of July at BFI Southbank in London.
BFI Southbank did a great job at creating a very special Peaky Blinders atmosphere with portraits of the characters hanging on the walls inside the big venue. After picking up our tickets from the box office, we took place inside the cinema where BBC people introduced Series 5. All we can say is that fans won’t be disappointed with the beginning of the new season.

You will have to wait quite some time during the episode to see Sam as Oswald Mosley, but what a delight it is when he finally appears on screen! We are looking forward to seeing his character’s journey.
When episode 1 finished, we also got to see a little preview of episode 2 before the screenwriter and cast came on stage for the Q&A.
You can watch the video above if you are interested in watching the whole panel (we missed the very beginning and the very end, apologies). We also got the chance to ask Sam a question! Let us know if you’ve recognized our question 🙂
We did not expect the Q&A to last such a long time, which was great! There were some really interesting questions and the cast took their time to reply. After the Q&A, we headed to the after party where the Peaky Blinders atmosphere took a all new level!
We also got the chance to chat with Sam for a bit and he mentioned that he was currently busy filming his upcoming movie Enola Holmes. Needless to say we are very excited for that one!
Sam discusses his new role in Peaky Blinders series 5 as Oswald Mosley with totalfilm magazine: “As much as I may not be involved in violence … at some point, there will be blood“.
Peaky Blinders will return in August! We are looking forward to seeing Sam in this new role.
