From the cold fog of Wales, the cobbled paths and lights of Paris to the sunsets and sands of Spain, we’ve followed Sam on his journey to becoming the incomparable Will Traynor for the film adaptation of Jojo Moyes’ beautiful novel Me Before You, set to be released in Summer 2016. The role of the miserable quadriplegic enlightened by the sprightly step and bumblebee tights of his newest carer Lou Clark (Game of Thrones‘ Emilia Clarke) has certainly brought a transformation for Sam from his last role as Finnick Odair in the Hunger Games franchise; yet under that distant expression, beard scruff and confines of a wheelchair, we know his talent will shine through and move us to tears once more. With thanks to the Daily Mail we were lucky enough to get to see some incredible BTS shots of Sam & Emilia filming in Spain during June, including our first shots of Sam using Will’s wheelchair!
Filming eventually wrapped in Paris, with the Sam, Jojo & Emilia all taking to Instagram to share treasured memories of what seems to have been an incredible filming experience.
