SCF was lucky to attend the preview screening of Peaky Blinders Series 5 on Tuesday the 23rd of July at BFI Southbank in London.

BFI Southbank did a great job at creating a very special Peaky Blinders atmosphere with portraits of the characters hanging on the walls inside the big venue. After picking up our tickets from the box office, we took place inside the cinema where BBC people introduced Series 5. All we can say is that fans won’t be disappointed with the beginning of the new season.

You will have to wait quite some time during the episode to see Sam as Oswald Mosley, but what a delight it is when he finally appears on screen! We are looking forward to seeing his character’s journey.

When episode 1 finished, we also got to see a little preview of episode 2 before the screenwriter and cast came on stage for the Q&A.

You can watch the video above if you are interested in watching the whole panel (we missed the very beginning and the very end, apologies). We also got the chance to ask Sam a question! Let us know if you’ve recognized our question 🙂

We did not expect the Q&A to last such a long time, which was great! There were some really interesting questions and the cast took their time to reply. After the Q&A, we headed to the after party where the Peaky Blinders atmosphere took a all new level!

We also got the chance to chat with Sam for a bit and he mentioned that he was currently busy filming his upcoming movie Enola Holmes. Needless to say we are very excited for that one!

Today was Sam’s first day promoting his upcoming movie The Corrupted. He visited various radio stations to discuss the movie, his career and family life: “Men should get more paternity leave, so many men are expected to go back to work so soon after having babies” […] “I embrace the challenge, what is wonderful about our society is that men are willing and wanting to be more involved than they used to be.” [x]

Check out this exclusive footage of The Corrupted in Emma Hatton’s music video for the movie.

Make sure to Listen to these interviews as he has way more to say about being a dad while filming The Corrupted! We will be updating this post will all promotion content regarding the movie. Stay tuned!

Important Update: The movie will now be released on the 10th of May!

Check out this poster, courtesy of VultureHound : ” On Friday 3rd May, THE CORRUPTED, a contemporary crime-thriller set in the aftermath of a bloody land grab that took place across London ahead of the 2012 Olympic Games, releases in cinemas across the UK and Ireland.

Featuring an all-star cast of British screen favourites, THE CORRUPTED follows Liam (Sam Claflin), an ex-con determined to win back the love and trust of his family, having lost everything at the hands of a local crime syndicate run by Clifford Cullen (Timothy Spall).

Beneath the blinding lights and towering sights of the newly-built East London skyline, lies a dark, dangerous web of corruption. Stratford was home to the Olympic Games; decorated in the notion of legacy. But there’s little hope to be found for the recently released Liam McDonagh (Sam Claflin); a talented boxer put away for armed robbery, who wants nothing more than a peaceful life, and to reconnect with his young son Archie. But his brother Sean (Joe Claflin) is in deep, caught up in property developer Clifford Cullen’s (Timothy Spall) violent, unforgiving circle, with no route out. Liam knows he must risk everything to save his brother before it’s too late, but first, he needs to know who he can trust – which is a harder proposition than it sounds.”

We are looking forward to watching the movie and see Sam in another brand new role, far from other roles he has taken in the past. We will keep you posted with more news very soon!

The Corrupted trailer was a big surprise this morning… And we certainly did not expect the release to be so soon! In UK and Ireland cinemas on May 3rd! We are beyond excited to see Sam portray Liam, an ex-con trying to win back the love and trust of his family.

“He has lost everything at the hands of a local crime syndicate run by Clifford Cullen (Spall), who has high-level connections in politics, finance and the police force. Liam’s drive for redemption sees him caught up in a web of conspiracy, crime, and corruption.” (source IMDb)

Sam will be playing alongside Hugh Bonneville, Naomi Ackie, Timothy Spall and many others. Did you know that Joe Claflin, Sam’s younger brother is also in the movie ? We look forward to seeing the pair interact on screen!

Watch the trailer below and let us know what you think of it!
