On November 9th, Sam attended the opening of the new boutique store of designer Ermenegildo Zenga on London’s New Bond Street. The designer has previously styled him for shoots in magazines such as Zoo & it looks like Sam is a fan! As always, he looked incredible at the event, choosing a dark overcoat over a black double breasted suit & textured tie. And as it is almost Armistice Day, he also respectfully wore a poppy on his lapel. Sam is currently (& very poignantly for the time of year) filming Journey’s End, the film adaptation of R C Sherriff’s play, based on life in the trenches during WW1. And as such he is once again sporting a look reminiscent of the period, including that very fetching moustache! Check out some of the gorgeous photos from the event below, and you can find the rest in our Facebook album!

Sam traveled to Savannah, Georgia in the United States to attend the Savannah Film Festival, which is held annually by the Savannah College of Art & Design. After a screening of Me Before You, he took part in a little Q&A about the film alongside producer Allison Owen and was later honoured with the Spotlight Award during another screening of Arrival. Congratulations Sam! We’re very proud of you and it was completely deserved
Sam’s part starts at 2:57
As always, it was lovely to see Sam taking pictures with fans. Check out some of the great photos from the night below, or find more photos and videos in the gallery link.
On October 13, Sam attended Their Finest photocall and press conference during the 60th BFI London Film Festival in London. He was seen alongside Producer Stephen Woolley, actors Rachael Stirling, Bill Nighy, Gemma Arterton, director Lone Scherfig, director of the BFI London Film Festival Clare Stewart and producer Amanda Posey dProducer Stephen Woolley, actors Rachael Stirling, Bill Nighy, Gemma Arterton and director Lone Scherfig. You can watch the full video of the conference above!
On October 3rd, Sam attended the Emporio Armani show as part of the Fashion Week in Paris. He was seen sitting front row at the Studio Marcel Cerdan next to Elodie Frege and Dylan Penn, and also took a photo with the creator himself, Mr. Armani, who invited Sam to the see his new collection. Not the first time Sam has attended an Emporio Armani fashion show! As always he looked amazing!
On September 11th, Sam’s latest film Their Finest had its world premiere at the 2016 Toronto Film Festival and Sam was there alongside co-stars Gemma Arterton & Bill Nighy to promote it. The comedy drama, which follows a group of filmmakers charged with creating an inspiring film during the Blitz of London during World War II, will have its UK premiere on October 13th at the London Film Festival & it is already attracting some incredible reviews, including this one from Variety, in which Sam’s performance is praised highly:
Claflin reveals an entirely different side of his performing talents. His youthful good looks obscured by thick Joycean glasses, a slightly receded hairline, and that particular type of poor posture that can’t help but scream “writer,” the actor translates the insinuating arrogance of his “Hunger Games” role into tetchy, neurotic sarcasm with admirable success.
It looks like Sam had an incredible time at Giffoni Film Festival! Despite the heat of the Italian summer, he arrived with a cheery smile, greeting fans lined up outside the venue and then heading in for a Q&A session (that was fortunately live-streamed for international fans!) to start the day. From fatherhood to football, LAMDA, love and Finnick Odair, he entertained the audience with his stories; reminding everyone that it’s always important to keep yourself surrounded by friends & family.
Sam was invited to watch the Coach 2017 Menswear Show at the Invicta Plaza in London on June 13th. There he met up with good friend (& fellow Norwich boy!) Jim Chapman & the two posed for some gorgeous photos. As always, our fave guy looked great in his white trainers, jeans and a smart black jacket, with the cutest brown leather backpack! On Saturday, Sam paid a visit to see his good friend, and Their Finest Hour and a Half co-star Gemma Arterton as she performed in her play Nell Gwynn at the Apollo Theatre in London’s West End. Afterwards, he sang her praises on Instagram, posting “Just got back from seeing ‘er in ‘er play int i? If you haven’t already, make sure you go see the fabulous @gemmaarterton in Nell Gwynn at the Apollo. It’s the last week next week so don’t miss out. Fantastically humorous and yet another class performance. She’s just bloomin’ marvellous.”
The Daily Mail also posted some really sweet photos of Sam catching up with Gemma at stage door after the performance had finished. We are so excited to see these two work together later on in the year when Their Finest Hour and a Half is released!
Whilst his wife Laura attended the BAFTA awards in a midnight Givenchy Couture feathered gown, Sam made his own appearance at the Weinstein Co. BAFTA After-party in a dapper Dolce and Gabbana tux complete with a slick bow tie. And what’s even more exciting, co-star Emilia Clarke and director Thea Sharrock from the upcoming romantic drama Me Before You (in cinemas June 3rd) completed the night with a reunion after months of filming across the British countryside.

With BAFTA weekend in full swing, Sam & his gorgeous wife Laura Haddock were out in London once more on Saturday night. After attending the BAFTA Gala Fundraiser on Thursday night, the couple were invited to the Lancome BAFTA Nominee Party, held at the stunning Kensington Palace. Never putting a foot wrong with style, the couple looked incredible once again. Sam wore a petrol blue, three-piece suit with a white shirt & the most incredible black & white polka dot tie with matching pocket square. And Laura stunned in a dusky pink long sleeved gown, covering up with a cute leather jacket as the pair posed for some adorable photos outside the event!
