Whilst in America during promotion for Mockingjay Part 2, Sam sat down with Justine Harman from Elle USA as part of their ‘Hot Guy, Cold Drink’ feature. In this great interview he discusses everything from Finnick to fatherhood, to the fickleness of fame. It’s such a great interview, and the photos are gorgeous too! Check it out below.
Whilst on the whirlwind USA promo tour for Mockingjay Part 2, Sam once again sat down with the lovely ladies of The Talk CBS. Like last time, it is a brilliant interview. Watch it below…and watch out for the adorable gift that the ladies give him for his & Laura’s new expected arrival – it’s so adorable!
Sam recently chatted to the Metro newspaper, discussing fatherhood and Jennifer Lawrence amongst other things. He also (incredibly!) very kindly talks about us! Read our transcript of the interview below, and check out our scans! ***Please credit us if using our transcript or scans***
It’s all go for Hunger Games star Sam Claflin. He talks fatherhood, sweet deprivation and Jennifer Lawrence with Anna Smith.
The teenaged Sam Claflin wanted to be a footballer, but it wasn’t to be. “I broke my ankle at 16 and I was like, right. I can’t do that, I need to do something else. Then I found drama. When I put my mind to something, I stick to it. I am good at following it through”.
Sam & Natalie Dormer joined Matt Edmonson on his BBC Radio 1 weekend show to talk all about Mockingjay Part 2. It’s a great interview, and Sam is so funny as always. Listen out for him talking about his Glamour Man of the Year award, Claflin BBQs and yet another of his clumsy moments whilst on set…oh dear Sam!
Sam recently spoke with The Guardian’s Observer Magazine in this interview in which he discusses photo-shoots, social media, future roles and why he really doesn’t want to be typecast. It’s a great interview as always! Please credit us if using our scans.
Actors like to talk about their years in the wilderness before fame hit. Harrison Ford was a carpenter. Jon Hamm spent decades waiting tables. Channing Tatum stripped. It gives them some regular-Joe mass to weigh against their new celebrity. Sam Claflin, 29, star of The Hunger Games and Pirates of the Caribbean, is no different.
“Everyone has their struggles, I think. After I left drama school I had six months of rejection after rejection,” he says, sipping on a pint in Kentish Town, north London, in unseasonable autumn sunshine. “I thought about a plan B.”

***Spoiler alert for Mockingjay Part 2 – don’t read if you don’t want to know a major plot spoiler***
The sky hangs heavy and sullen on a muggy day in London. But Sam Claflin looks positively breezy. Sporting a pair of light blue jeans, a white linen shirt with its two top buttons undone to reveal a polite amount of chest hair, a tussled mane, and day-old stubble, he could be one of the more suave guests at a summer pool party. And he does, indeed, have a swashbuckling air about him. As Finnick Odair in The Hunger Games and Philip Swift in Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, the 29-year-old Ipswich-born actor has the swagger, skill set and sexiness of a young Errol Flynn.
Sam is asked some questions in a fun interview in the November 2015 issue of Total Film Magazine. We have transcribed the interview below & also posted a scan. Please credit us if using our scan or transcription.
Film quotes pose as questions. Film stars try to cope. In the crosshairs this month: Sam Claflin.
TF – You talkin’ to me?
SC – Yes…I do enjoy the interview process. It’s something that I’d heard horror stories about. Someone going, ‘You’ve got a week of junketing? Oh, gutted.’ But I find it surprisingly easy, It keeps me off the streets.
Sam was chosen as cover star for Men’s Health Magazine’s bi annual supplement Urban Active. Along with some absolutely stunning new photographs of our favourite guy there is also this amazing interview which we have transcribed below. Please credit us if you are using our scans or transcription.
Post-apocalyptic life looks remarkably mundane to 29-year-old Sam Claflin. “I just got back from my parents’ place in Norfolk”, says the Brit actor. “Waking up to the bin men driving up the street kind of puts it all into perspective.”
Perspective is useful when you’re coming off the back of a dystopian pop-culture phenomenon like The Hunger Games, in which Claflin plays trident-wielding tribute Finnick Odair. The final instalment – Mockingjay Part 2 – hits cinemas in November. In case you’ve mistakenly written it off as Twilight-lite, the series of young adult novels turned film franchise combines a surprisingly sharp critique of social inequality and reality TV with surprisingly sharp weapons, as subjugated teenagers from poor districts are forced by their metropolitan overlords to fight to the death, Battle Royale-style, in the name of Saturday-night entertainment.
Eric Down shared the new stunning cover of Urban Active for Men’s Health Magazine (UK) featuring our dear Sam looking absolutely amazing!
Check it out in your local retailer… As soon as we get a hold on the interview, we will be posting scans and a transcription!
